Holy Kailash Manasarovar Yatra by Helicopter starts from the capital city of Uttar Pradesh Lucknow. We cross the India border at Rupaidhia and enter Nepalgunj which is in Nepal. The total distance from Lucknow to Nepalgunj is around 180KMs. Nepalgunj is a small town situated on the Tarai, you won’t find any mountain in this area, this town is like any Indian small town. We fly from Nepalgunj to Simikot in a small mountain flight which takes 30 minutes to reach. Simikot is a small town amidst high Himalayan mountains, the weather is always cool here in summer and freezing during winter. After Simikot, we fly in a Helicopter for 25 minutes to reach a small mountain top town Hilsa which is our border entry point for Tibet. After entering Tibet our entire journey will be on a Bus and by foot (during parikrama). In this tour we stay close to Lake Manasarovar and do 3 days of Parikrama of mount Kailash by trek.

Itinerary

On your arrival at Lucknow our driver will pick you up and we start our drive to Nepalgunj which is the nearest Indo – Nepal border. The distance is around 180 Kms which takes 4 hours for us to reach. Check-in the hotel and relax. After dinner, we will have a briefing about the Yatra. Post briefing, final preparations, and packing.

Food: Vegetarian Dinner.

After early breakfast, we head straight to Nepalgunj Airport and fly to Simikot. This flying experience will be a thrilling one, you will fly in a 16 seater aircraft on top of the beautiful Himalayas and it is a feast to the eyes. From Nepalgunj, it will take around 50 mins to reach the beautiful town of Simikot. Simikot is filled with the ecstatic views of the Himalayas and the Himalayan valley. The rest of the day is for if for acclimatization. You can roam around and enjoy the local culture and delicacies of the beautiful Simikot. We recommend our Yatris to walk around the town for better acclimatization.

After breakfast, we take a helicopter to reach Hilsa, the flying experience from Simikot to Hilsa is indeed a memorable one. You will fly over the beautiful snow-covered Himalayas to the reach the beautiful tiny village of Hilsa which is the Nepal – China border. We will take a short walk to the Immigration office and finish our immigration and customs formalities. We will meet our support crew after crossing the border. We take an hour’s drive to reach Taklakot. Taklakot is a town which is also known as Burang / Purang is an old trading town filled with Monasteries, Buddhist Temples, and market places. One can buy all the last minute necessaries from here. Acclimatization is very important at this height and taking a walk around will help our Yatris to Acclimatize better and also drinking hot water at these high altitudes is a very healthy practice for a successful Yatra.

Today is one of the auspicious days of the Yatra as we start our drive to the Holy Manasarovar Lake. It is around 70 Kms from Taklakot which will take 2 hours for us to the holy place. We will also have our first glimpse of the holy Mt. Kailash. Further, we will complete the Lake Manasarovar Parikrama by vehicle. The breathtaking views of Manasarovar are really the ones to cherish about. On the way, we get a lot of places to take memorable pictures of Mt. Kailash, Manasarovar, and Rakshashtal.

Today is the auspicious day for all our Yatries as the moment they once dreamed of finally arrives. We start our day with a having bath at the banks of the Holy Lake followed by offering prayers, performing Hawan and Puja, meditation and other spiritual activities followed by lunch. After lunch, we start our drive to Darchen which is 40 Kms from Manasarovar and will only take an hour to reach. Darchen is a small settlement from where Mt. Kailash is very clearly visible. One can take a stroll around the town in the evening.

After breakfast, we will take a short drive to Yam Dwar. The Starting point of Kailash Parikrama, the destination today is Dirapuk and it is a 12 Kms trek and it takes 6 hours. Pilgrims can either walk or hire a horse for this journey. Pilgrims can also hire porters to carry backpacks. The journey is filled with beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas as well as the Holy Mt. Kailash. You can witness the north face of Mt. Kailash from Dirapuk. We recommend you not to miss the opportunity of witnessing the first rays of the Sun on the Mt. Kailash which turns golden and is indeed a treat to the eyes. We recommend our Yatries to have plenty of hot water as it helps in better acclimatization.

Note: Yatries who are not doing Parikrama will have Darshan at Yamdwar and return to Darchen. And stay at Darchen until the Parikrama Yatries return.

Today is the toughest day of the Yatra as we have an intense trek of about 22 Kms ahead of us but not to worry as Bholenath is always with us. We start our day with a light breakfast and proceed to Zuthulphuk crossing the mighty Dolma La Pass which is at a height of 5620 meters. The trek goes with a steep climbing up of about 3 hours to cross the Pass and steep climbing down of about 3 hours towards Gaurikunda. After Gaurikunda we trek towards a valley where you find few local tea stalls, You can relax, snack on and also have a cup of tea to regain your energy, we continue our journey to Zuthulphuk which is 1-hour trek from the tea stall.

Today is the last day of the Kailash Parikrama as we start the short trek of 10 Kms which takes about 2 hours to the endpoint from where we will board a bus to Darchen. We join our fellow Yatries at Darchen, have breakfast, and begin our drive to Hilsa via Taklakot and fly by helicopter to Simikot. You cherish the memories of the beautiful Yatra witnessing the serene nature’s beauty along the way. You will have a glimpse of many snow-capped mountains along the way.

After breakfast, we will fly to Nepalgunj, check-in to the hotel and relax. Final meet and greet with the organizers followed by certificate distribution for successful completion of Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.

Exclusions

  • Travel Expense to reach and return from Lucknow.
  • Travel Insurance, Rescue and Emergency Evacuation Charges, Medical, and Hospital Expenses in case of any emergency during the Yatra.
  • Extra Accommodation and food if in case the Yatra is delayed/ postponed due to weather or any other unavoidable circumstances.
  • Group Visa Splitting Charges – If any Yatri decides to return midway from the Yatra, an amount of RMB 165 for visa splitting and USD 100/day for transportation will be charged according to the China – FEC rules.
  • Personal Expenses, Expenses for hiring a horse for Parikrama, and Porters for Parikrama.
  • Beverages and other food which is not mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Anything which is not specifically mentioned under ‘Cost Inclusions’.

Terms, and Conditions

  • An amount of INR 25,000 + 5% GST per person to be paid as initial advance for visa and permit processing.
  • Yatris are requested to send a color scanned copy of Passport, PAN card, and Adhar card for documentation.
  • Second Advance – An amount of INR 1.00,000 + 5% GST per person to be paid within a month a selected departure date.
  • Yatris are requested to send their Passports to our Delhi based visa agent for visa processing within 15 days before the departure date.
  • The Balance payment can be made in Kathmandu.
  • It is mandatory to have a passport that is valid for 6 months and is not a diplomatic Passport.
    Passports sent to Delhi will be handed over to you in Kathmandu, so it is Mandatory to have a valid voter ID to fly to Nepal. If you crossing land border then any ID proof will work.
  • Yatris below 70 Years of age will be only allowed to do the 2nd day of Parikrama if they are physically fit and it will be the ultimate decision of the Chinese Guide.

For Yatris above 70 years of age

  • Has to submit a Medical Certificate from Government Medical Hospital at the time of booking.
    It is mandatory to be accompanied by 2 direct relatives.
  • Has to deposit USD 1000 as a refundable security deposit which is non-refundable in case of the sudden demise of the Yatri.
  • The Yatris will undergo a Health examination before the Parikrama and will be allowed to do the Parikrama only if approved by the health examiner.

General Information

  • Insurance: It is not mandatory to have travel insurance for visa processing. However, we recommend our Yatris to have travel insurance so it will be useful in case of any emergencies.
  • Oxygen: We provide oxygen cylinders to all our groups which can be used in case of any emergencies. However, Yatries willing to buy a handy oxygen cylinder personally can buy the same in Kyirong which generally costs around RMB 20 – 30 per cylinder.
  • Dry Food: Yatris can carry dry food items to make the yatra convenient.
  • Money Exchange: Other currencies except for USD are not accepted in China but is acceptable in Nepal. Yatris can exchange the currency to Chinese Yuans in Kathmandu.
  • Temperature: 4 to 18 degrees Celcius during day time and 0 to -5 degrees Celcius during the night.
  • Weather-Related Flight Cancellations: We advise our Yatris to always keep and a day or two in buffer while booking the return tickets as weather-related flight cancellations are quite frequent in this Zone.
  • Hot water consumption: Consuming hot water in high altitudes is always helpful and one of the best practices which can help in a successful Yatra.
