Day 1: of Kailash Manasarovar Helicopter Yatra

Arrive at Lucknow and Drive to Nepalgunj. We will start our drive to Nepalgunj, the nearest Indo – Nepal border. The distance is around 180 Kms which takes 4 hours for us to reach. Check-in the hotel and relax. After dinner, we will have a briefing about the Kailash Manasarovar Helicopter Yatra. Post briefing, final preparations, and packing.

Day 2: Fly to Simikot from Nepalgunj Airport

On day two of our Kailash Manasarovar yatra 2022 by helicopter, we head straight to Nepalgunj Airport and fly to Simikot. This flying experience will be a thrilling one, as you will fly in a 16 seater aircraft through the clouds above the beautiful Himalayas- a sight that is truly a feast to the eyes. From Nepalgunj, it will take around 50 mins to reach the beautiful town of Simikot. The rest of the day is for acclimatization. We recommend our Yatris to walk around the town for better acclimatization.

Day 3: Fly to Hilsa by Helicopter and Drive to Taklakot

As this is Kailash Manasarovar Yatra by helicopter, we will take a helicopter to reach Hilsa, the flying experience from Simikot to Hilsa is indeed a memorable one. You will fly over the beautiful snow-covered Himalayas to reach the beautiful tiny village of Hilsa, which is the Nepal – China border. Then, we will take a short walk to the Immigration office and finish our immigration and customs formalities.

We will meet our support crew after crossing the border. Then, we take an hour’s drive to reach Taklakot. Acclimatization is essential at this height for your Kailash Manasarovar yatra by helicopter and taking a walk around will help our Yatris better. It is around 70 km from Taklakot, which will take 2 hours for us to reach the holy place. Further, we will complete the Manasarovar parikrama by vehicle. The breathtaking views of Manasarovar are the ones to cherish about.

Day 5: of Kailash Manasarovar Helicopter Yatra: Puja, Hawan, and Drive to Darchen

We start our day 5 of Kailash Manasarovar yatra by helicopter by bathing at the banks of the Holy Lake, followed by offering prayers, performing Hawan and Puja, meditation, and other spiritual activities followed by lunch. After lunch, we start our drive to Darchen, which is 40 Kms from Manasarovar and will only take an hour to reach.

Day 6: Drive to Yamdwar and Trek to Dirapuk (1st day of Parikrama)

After breakfast, we will take a short drive to Yam Dwar, the starting point of the Parikrama, the destination today is Dirapuk, and it is a 12 Kms trek, and it takes 6 hours. Pilgrims can either hire a horse or do a trek. Pilgrims can also hire porters to carry backpacks.

However, please note that these extra expenditures are not included in our Kailash Manasarovar yatra helicopter package cost. The journey is filled with beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas as well as the Holy Mount Kailash. We recommend our Yatries to have plenty of hot water as it helps in better acclimatization for a smooth Kailash Manasarovar yatra by helicopter.

Day 7: of Kailash Manasarovar yatra helicopter package: Trek to Zuthulphuk via Dolma La Pass and Gaurikund (2nd day of Parikrama).

We will have an intense trek of about 22 km on the 7th day of our Kailash Manasarovar yatra 2022 by helicopter, this is the toughest part of Parikrama. We start our day with a light breakfast and proceed to Zuthulphuk crossing the mighty Dolma La Pass, which is at the height of 5, 620 meters. The trek goes with a steep climb up of about 3 hours to cross the pass and steep climbing down about 3 hours towards Gaurikund.

After Gaurikund, we trek downhill towards a valley where you find a few local tea stalls. So you can relax, snack on, and have a cup of tea to re-energize yourself, and then we continue our journey to Zuthulphuk, which is a 1-hour trek from the tea stall.

On this day of the Kailash Manasarovar yatra 2022 by helicopter, we will start the short trek of 10 km, which takes about 2 hours to the endpoint from where we will board a bus to Darchen. We join our fellow Yatries at Darchen, have breakfast, and begin our drive to Hilsa via Taklakot and fly by helicopter to Simikot.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra by Helicopter- Terms and Conditions

  • An amount of INR 35,000* + 5% GST per person is to be paid as an initial advance for visa and permit processing.
  • Yatris are requested to send a color scanned copy of Passport, PAN card, and Adhar card for documentation.
  • Second Advance – an amount of INR 142,000* + 5% GST per person to be paid within a month of selected departure date.
  • Yatris are requested to send their Passports to our Delhi office for visa processing within 15 days before the departure date.
  • The Balance payment can be made in Nepalgunj / Kathmandu.
  • It is mandatory to have a passport that is valid for 6 months and is not a diplomatic Passport.
    Passports sent to Delhi will be handed over to you in Nepalgunj / Kathmandu, so it is Mandatory to have a valid voter ID to fly to Nepal. If you crossing the land border then any ID proof will work.
  • Yatris below 70 Years of age will be only allowed to do the 2nd day of Parikrama if they are physically fit and it will be the ultimate decision of the Chinese Guide.

For Yatris above 70 years of age

  • Has to submit a Medical Certificate from Government Medical Hospital at the time of booking.
    It is mandatory to be accompanied by 2 direct relatives.
  • Has to deposit USD 1000* as a refundable security deposit which is non-refundable in case of the sudden demise of the Yatri. *The mentioned amount generally gets changed every year, contact us to check the actual amount.
  • The Yatris will undergo a Health examination before the Parikrama and will be allowed to do the Parikrama only if approved by the health examiner.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra by Helicopter General Information

  • Insurance: It is not mandatory to have travel insurance for visa processing. However, we recommend our Yatris to have travel insurance so it will be useful in case of any emergencies.
  • Oxygen: We provide oxygen cylinders to all our groups which can be used in case of any emergencies. However, Yatries willing to buy a handy oxygen cylinder personally can buy the same in Kyirong which generally costs around RMB 20 – 30 per cylinder.
  • Dry Food: Yatris can carry dry food items to make the yatra convenient.
  • Money Exchange: Other currencies except for USD are not accepted in China but are acceptable in Nepal. Yatris can exchange the currency for Chinese Yuans in Kathmandu.
  • Temperature: 4 to 18 degrees Celcius during daytime and 0 to -5 degrees Celcius during the night.
  • Weather-Related Flight Cancellations: We advise our Yatris to always keep and a day or two in the buffer while booking the return tickets as weather-related flight cancellations are quite frequent in this Zone.
